Day 1 of the MEVZA Innsbruck BeachEvent within the Austrian win2day Beach Volleyball Tour PRO has been successfully completed. Today, Friday (3 June 2022) was the day of the pool matches. With bright sunshine in the morning, the grandstand at the Innsbruck Marktplatz filled up continuously. In the afternoon, a short but heavy downpour allowed the players to take a short break, but fortunately did not temper the enthusiasm. Thus, all matches could be played. Now everything is ready for tomorrow.
From 16 to 12: results and outlook for tomorrow (Saturday)
From a sporting point of view, day 1 brought a few surprises but also great performances. The Slovakians SIPOSOVA/ELEKOVA, the Hungarians VASVÁRI/VASVÁRI, the Czechs ROCKOVA/PRIHODOVA and the Austrians WIESMEYR/FREIBERGER already qualified for the quarter finals. In the men’s competition, we will see the young Austrians LEITNER/PASCARIUC as well as the Austrian veterans DOPPLER/KUNERT, the Czechs KUFA/WABER and the team from Isreael CUZMICIOV/DAY in tomorrow’s quarterfinals at the center court.
Their opponents will be determined tomorrow morning in the Round of 12, where the fans are looking forward to strong Austrian participation. In the afternoon, the quarter finals will follow.
